What to expect
Sojourn might be a bit different than what you typically experience with a church. We want to be a church like those described in the New Testament. Those churches looked a lot more like family gatherings where they did life together, ate meals, sang songs, studied the bible, served those around them, prayed for one another, and shared stories of how Jesus transformed their lives. Each person was known and important, and would bring his/her spiritual gift to build the others up. It was not about what type of clothes you wear, your social status, your attractiveness or popularity. It was not something that you merely attended, but where you contributed for the sake of each other and for those who have not heard of the message of Jesus. It was also a place where people could ask questions and check out the teachings of Jesus in a safe environment.
Our gatherings will typically have between 15-50 people and will often begin with a meal or refreshments. Then there will be times of singing, praying, testimonies, and bible discussion discovery bible study). Kids may at some point be taken to another room for some teaching that is more age appropriate (some microchurches decide to keep kids with the adults the entire time), but we try to include them to participate as much as possible.
Check out our “How we do it” page for more details on our churches.
Microchurches
We currently have 5 microchurches throughout the Treasure Valley, please check out the one closest to you. Each church is intentionally reaching out in their neighborhoods or network and making disciples.
